Our Mission
We are a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the Doushikai style of Miyake Taiko across North America.
We act as a bridge between Miyakejima Geinou Doushikai in Japan and the growing number of Miyake Taiko enthusiasts in the North America.

About Miyake Taiko & Doushikai
Miyake Taiko is a traditional style of festival drumming from Miyake Island, Japan.
The piece was arranged for stage by Akio Tsumura, who passed on his knowledge to many, including the world-renowned taiko group Kodo.
Today, the Doushikai, led by Akio and his three sons, continue to preserve and transmit the original spirit and form of Miyake Taiko.
We look forward to supporting your journey in Miyake Taiko, and growing our North American community together.
