Uchiwa (meaning fan in Japanese) Daiko is a drum shaped like a fan--flat and round with a wooden handle. Uchiwa daiko is light, portable, and easy to carry, unlike most taiko drums. It does not require a stand. You can just grab it by the handle and play anywhere--great for outdoor events and parades.
