LATI VIRTUAL RECITAL

Dearest LATI Community,

We hope that you are doing well and staying healthy during these times.

Hard to believe that it’s already been over 6 months since we have had to shut down our classes. Thankfully our staff and instructors are healthy and safe, but we do miss connecting with all of our students and the liveliness of LATI.

As you may remember, we were planning on having our next Recital on January 23/24 of 2021.

The chances of this happening at the Armstrong Theater are very slim, so we came together and decided to hold a Virtual Recital instead!

LATI VIRTUAL RECITAL

Date: January 23, 2020 - exact time and platform TBD

Description: A collection of performance videos submitted by students and groups that (used to) practice at Asano Taiko US physically

Tickets: 500 limit, sold through the Torrance Cultural Arts website

Shown only once and will not exist online thereafter, though video archive will be shared with participants afterwards

ATUS AFFILIATES VIRTUAL CONCERT

Date: January 24, 2020 - exact time and platform TBD

Description: A collection of performance videos submitted by students and groups affiliated with Asano Taiko US and Instructors

Tickets: no limit, sold through the Torrance Cultural Arts website

Will exist online after showing

This will be quite a difficult endeavor, but knowing how enthusiastic and cooperative our community is, we can definitely make it happen.

To do so, we need a bit of information from you to get an idea of how to set up our prep courses and measure everyone’s comfort level in terms of COVID-19 safety.

Things to note:

After we get a feel from our students, there will be options for students/groups to submit videos on their own, or through the help of instructors via an 8-week Course Program ($160) which includes:

• Instruction or direction from LATI Instructors in a number of possible formats (ex. youtube playlist, group zoom class, in-person class)

• 1-hour/week of individual access to the Small or Large Room + Drums

• An average of 15 minutes/week of individual attention/feedback from instructor

• Finished product in the form of an edited video to be included in Virtual Concert

Asano Taiko US COVID-19 Safety Protocols:

• body temperature check before entering the facility

• requiring masks for entering and exiting the facility

• maintaining 6ft of distance between staff and studio renter

• maximum of 8 people in the Large Room, 4 people in the Small Room

• air conditioning always ON to ventilate the room and keep CO2 levels the same as the outside, we will keep a measuring instrument in the room to track levels

• at least 30 minutes between reservations to enable staff to sanitize the room and equipment

• no shared rental bachi - please BYOB
